Privacy
Effective date: TBD (private beta)
A formal privacy policy is being finalized for the public launch. While the legal copy is being prepared, here's the operating reality of how promptpov handles your data:
What stays on your Mac
- Your AI keys. Anthropic / OpenAI keys are stored in your macOS Keychain. promptpov never sees them and they never touch our servers.
- AI requests. When you use the AI Assistant or pre-meeting briefing, prompts go directly from your Mac to your AI provider. They don't pass through promptpov.
- Calendar event content. Calendar event titles + times are read locally via Apple's EventKit. Nothing is sent off your Mac.
- Camera frames. Compositing happens in a CMIO system extension on your machine. Frame data never leaves your Mac. We never see your video.
- Conversation history with the AI Assistant. Stored locally in your macOS app group container.
What we do store
- Email address. For magic-link sign-in. You give it to us when you sign up.
- Widget configuration. The widgets you've enabled, where they're positioned in your video feed, what's in your name card or social handle. Synced to our backend so the agent on your Mac can pull updates.
- Agent token. Each install gets a unique token, scoped to your user, used to authenticate the agent with the backend.
- Subscription status. When payments launch, we'll record your tier and billing state with the payment provider.
All of the above is hosted on Supabase (Postgres + Auth) in the United States.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties.
- We don't run advertising. There are no third-party trackers or analytics scripts on your video feed.
- We don't read your camera, microphone, calendar event content, or AI conversations.
